The 1981 Marauder is a new double surface glider manufactured by Gold Marque Sports in Yorkshire. The tips float up under load making for easy landings and by clever sailmaking are ‘cupped’ to exhaust the high pressure air behind and downwards to delay the tip vortices which normally occur inboard of the tips, so cutting down the effective span. The machine has no vertical keel pocket, but rather a horizontal one which allows the keel sideways movement at the rear. Vertical surface behind the centre of pressure is provided by a fin which is attached between the king post and the back-stay wire.

The 1982 Gyr is a fourth generation glider produced in two sizes, 174 and 188 sq ft, 30% double surface, with a floating cross tube and with good performance for type. Regarded as strong but heavy. It has been found after investigation that the Gyr has some degree of pitch instability and modifications were put in hand to cure the problem.

Built in the UK, the price was £695.00.

The 1984 Shadow gave superb performance and incorporated innovative engineering and a finish that reflected attention to detail as one would expect in a wing hand-built by pilots. The range of options was extensive and the glider could be built to exact requirements. The Shadow 2 basically incorporated a V.G. system. Other competition extras were mylar leading edges, nose cone, faired uprights and kingpost. Advertised also was a twistgrip operated wing-warping system for effortless roll control.
