The AL-24 was a 24 cylinder engine built around Liberty components in a fan, or double 12 configuration. The outer banks were 45 degrees and 35 degrees separated them.
The Aeromarine AL-24 engine was submitted to the Air Service for consideration for use in large bombing and seaplanes on 18 June 1921.
Built by Engineering Division and Boeing in 1922 as an army ground-attack pursuit aircraft, the PG-1 had a 37mm cannon in its propshaft and lots of armor plate. Ultimately it was rejected because of pilot’s lack of forward visibility. First flying on 22 August 1922, three were built (AS64245-64247). The first PG-1 went to McCook Field as project P-240. The only pursuit aircraft with a “PG” designation, which was later transferred to the Powered Glider category. A second type of engine was tried in the PG-1; the Packard 1A of 350 hp.

The 1923 LDB was an army bomber design with 115 ft 0 in wing and 65 ft 0 in airfoil fuselage. Two designs were produced, but neither is known to have been built.
About 10 of the 1930 AKL-26 (ATC 203) were built, including 3 AKL-60 prototypes, and one as the AKL-26 Special (ATC 2-111) in 1932 for twin-float modification. New price was US$3,500 or $4,500 as a floatplane.
The AKL-26A (ATC 204) of 1929 was fitted with an extra fuel tank, selling for US$3,550. About 40 were built, of which at least one, NC163M, was refitted with 80hp Genet engine. In 1934 a twin-float conversion, N159M, was made as the Uppercu AKL-26A (ATC 2-466).
The AKL-26B / AKL-85 / Model 85 Flyer (ATC 334) of 1930 sold new for US$$3,700, $3,300 in 1931 or $4,700 as floatplane (ATC 2-467). At least 14 were built, of which some were converted to AKL-27, also produced in 1930.

The AKL-27 of 1930 was the same AKL-26B with 110hp LeBlond 7DF engine. NR387N and N863W were produced.
Three AKL-60 were built in 1930, from AKL-26; NC120H, NC122H and NC123H.

Designed from the Hans Klemm powered glider design, the L.25, one prototype was built in 1928, plus several registered as Leicht-flugzeugbau L-25. The AKL-25 made its public debut at the 1928 Nationals where, with its gliderlike characteristics, it won the dead-stick landing contests. The design became production Aeromarine-Klemm AKL-25A. About 60 of the AKL-25, AKL-25A aka L-25A were built, of which some were converted to AKL-26A. Production was superseded by the AKL-26.
