Frederick & Sage Company Ltd engaged originally in fine woodwork. In early 1915 was asked by Admiralty to build aircraft, and was first concerned with airships. In June 1915 received order for Short 184 floatplanes, and carried out modifications to, and built, Avro 504K trainers. Built own-design Sage Type II, two-seat biplane fighter, with enclosed crew and gunnery arrangements (flown 1916); Type III was trainer for Admiralty (flew 1917); Types 4a, b and c were patrol and trainer floatplanes; none entered production.
Safe-Wings SW-1 / SW-2
The 1937 SW-1 was a two place cabin monoplane was registered NX18220, and powered by a 40hp Continental A-40 engine. The one built was modified, as the SW-2, with a 60hp Milwaukee Tank engine.

Sackett J-1 Jeanie

Mr. Horace E Sackett of Gobles, Michigan took his Piper J-3 Cub and rebuilt it circra 1955 into a low-wing, single-seat, tricycle undercarriage aircraft, which is now known as the Sackett J-1 “Special”. Still retained its 65-hp Lycoming engine, it far outperforms the Cub from which it was developed. It also retains its original registration number N33130.
At some stage it was powered by a 90hp Franklin 4AC.
