Lear Fan Ltd

Founded 1980 by Learavia and British Government to produce Lear Fan 2100 twin-turboprop business aircraft (first flown 1981). Ownership passed 1982 to Fan Holdings Inc. of U.S.A., but with production in Northern Ireland. Production moved to U.S.A. 1983 but program halted 1985.

Founded as an electrical company at Santa Monica, California, in 1930. An aircraft engineering division produced the Learstar, a high-speed, long-range transport based on the Lockheed Lodestar, in 1953. First delivered in 1955; production taken over by PacAero Engineering Corporation in 1957.

Lazarow, Cwietan

Worked for DAR before Second World War. From 1946 built the LAZ-7M; LAZ-8 four-seat taxi; LAZ-11 ambulance version of -8; and LAZ-12 single-seat aerobatic aircraft. All except the LAZ-7 sporting monoplane were built in prototype form only. The LAZ-1 OH light helicopter was abandoned before completion. All powered aircraft production in Bulgaria ceased in 1961.
