Podlaska Wytwornia Samolotow was established in 1923; produced own civil and military designs in quantity, and also engaged in license production. Built wide variety of civil types in early 1930s, mainly for military, but included PWS 24T four-passenger cabin monoplane. Ceased production following German occupation in 1940.

Founded 1930 as Pobjoy Airmotors Ltd., engine manufacturer. In 1935 became public company and enlarged scope to include aircraft manufacture. Chairman Oswald Short, managing director Arthur Gouge. Built Pirate high-wing monoplane 1935, but performance disappointing. Acquired license to build Short Scion and Scion Senior light transports. Short Bros took over all Pobjoy’s issued shares in 1938. Company was subcontractor for aircraft parts in Second World War.
