Eole 2000 Centaur Biplace

The take off is easy (for a two-seater), two steps, the wing flies (very good balance in incidence), third and fourth step, everyone takes off. With a very light headwind, the fifth step is seldom used. Slight “push-pulls” are enough to change the inclination. The 1.60 m of the control bar offers a good compromise for maneuverability.

Like all two-seater, the final push to landing is difficult to determine, especially since the ground effect is rather low. A push too late to result in a tendency to nose down, difficult if not impossible to catch up: the glider is heavy from the front.

Eole 2000 Alpha

The Eole 2000 Alpha is a 1982 hang glider. This wing was a true copy of the UP Comet manufactured in Salins les Bains in the Eole 2000 factory, whose manager was Gilles Bru, founder of Air Creation. It was the first French double surface.

The Alpha achieved its maximum degree of maneuverability with a little speed, the bar a bit of “play” at low speed and the roll rate is higher. Bar left in turn, the wing continues its momentum with a tendency to engage more and more. A spiral instability that you get used. A knee-high bar, the Alpha does not Dutch roll.

The very first wings produced had irregularity in the quality of the fabric sometimes leading to an excessive lobe and was not desired. The later production no longer had this serious flaw.

The Eole 2000 Alpha 3 is a 1984 hang glider.

Foil

A 1985 hang glider. The Foil 160B tended to be difficult with yaw at stupid airspeeds.

The Enterprise Wings Foil 152C, Upside: A very light handling, predictable, fun and safe glider with a respectable glide angle for its era. Only downside: The keel was long, meaning an overflare could easily end up in a broken keel.

The Foil Combat is a 1991 hang glider for Advanced pilots.

The Foil Combat 2 is stable, predictable and responds quickly. It climbs and glides well. Like most performance gliders of this age it’s heavy, has loose side wires ground handles poorly but flies great.It lands fine but needs a good flare.

The Foil Racer first appeared in 1987. The Foil 150B Kevlar Race was a great glider especially in thermals but you had to look out to not stall a wing under certain circumstances, easy landing, not the best setup and heavy for the size.

Enterprise Wings Rage

Circa 1995, the Rage is an intermediate glider with 70 percent double surface and uses 7075 battens. This glider can’t get fast enough to loop it but has respectable performance and is a dream to handle (thanks to the ball and socket wing tips). Handles well, never any bad surprises.

When Enterprise Wings was wound up in 1995 it appears the Enterprise Wings “Rage” plans were sold to Moyes and became the Moyes Max.
