Ukrainian Aircraft Antonov An-124 Delivers Super Puma Helicopter to Réunion Island
Mar 17, 2025

The An-124 remains one of the largest cargo aircraft in the world, capable of transporting aviation equipment, specialized machinery, and even military hardware.

The aircraft, marked with the “Be Brave Like Mykolaiv” slogan, landed at Roland Garros Airport, where it unloaded the Super Puma helicopter along with additional equipment for local EDF specialists tasked with repairing the island’s power grid.

Antonov Airlines currently operates the largest transport aircraft available for civilian use, providing the company with a significant revenue stream. Their services range from transporting civilian cargo to delivering military equipment, supporting both buyers of defense systems and military deployments worldwide, including operations in Afghanistan.
Previously, a Ukrainian An-124 was involved in a mission to support the launch of the French military satellite CSO-3. The aircraft was chosen due to its massive cargo hold, which allows for the transportation of oversized payloads.
The CSO-3 satellite was successfully launched into orbit on March 6, 2025, from the Kourou spaceport aboard an Ariane 6 rocket.
