Intercity Airlines Co was formed in 1947 to construct and develop a three-seat helicopter, designed by American engineers Bernard Sznycer and Selina Gottlieb, designated SG Vl-D. This was a conventional single rotor/anti-torque tail rotor type, with a 165 hp Franklin engine.
