The Cri Cri was superseded by prototypes of the D57 Phryganet (first flight 7 November 1950) of similar general layout and D.21T-4 Super Phryganet (first flown July 30,1951). All three designed Paul J. Deville of Salmson.
A development of the pre-War Salmson D.2, the post-War D.21T-4 Super Phryganet is externally similar to the pre-War model and is of wooden construction.
