The wartime Caproni Ca 183bis high-altitude fighter was under construction in 1943 and powered by a DB 605 engine and a 700-h.p. Fiat A.3D engine, the latter buried in the fuselage aft of the pilot’s cockpit driving a compressor for a Campini ducted-fan type unit. The Ca 183bis was not tested.
