Piper PA-35 Pocono

This widebody 18‑seat commuterliner was close to certification when Piper's merger troubles with Chris‑Craft began in 1969; the recession of 1971 polished off the twin. Piper tried everything from souped‑up eight‑cylinder Lycomings to Pratt & Whitney radials, but none ever put out enough power to pull the roomy 2+1 seating fuselage along comfortably. "What we should have done is put four Aztec engines on it" Pug Piper said later.
Only one was made.
